Mission Objective:

Develop foundational skills in narrative analysis and character assessment through guided discussion questions.

Primary Targets:

  • Character Analysis: Identify key motivations and loyalties of the primary operatives, Ruth and Sarah
  • Plot Recognition: Track major story developments and turning points for each character
  • Historical Context: Did you know Agent 355's story? Do you know any other Culper Ring operations from the Revolutionary War?
  • Theme Identification: What are some of the central themes of the various storylines? Which themes relate to both characters?

Discussion Questions:

1. First Impressions: Which character made the strongest initial impact and why?

2. Historical Accuracy: What real Revolutionary War events or figures are referenced in the story? What about real events from the timeline of Ruth's mole hunt?

3. Trust & Betrayal: Which character relationships seemed most genuine? Which felt suspicious?

4. Key Moments: What scene or revelation surprised you most?

5. Personal Reflection: If you were in Ruth's position, what would you have done differently? What about Sarah's?

Mission Success Criteria:

Participate actively in discussion, support observations with text evidence, and connect story elements to historical context. Upon completion, you will be ready for promotion to Spy Legend status.
