SECRET
π Espionage Party Guide
Transform your book club gathering into a thrilling espionage experience! To help you get started, I've prepared this briefcase with the following resources for your mission:
- Choose Your Spy Level: The notebook contains mission prebriefs based on the complexity of the discussion you wish to hold. Start with Recruit for a lighter lift and less prep time. Or choose Legend if you want a more challenging discussion. If you feel you can handle an even bigger operation, try Spymaster! Each level links you to appropriate mission objectives and discussion prompts.
- Passports: Your briefcase is stocked with multiple identity documents. Be sure to choose your disguise and concealment devices to avoid detection.
- Meeting Location Protocol: Use the map to uncover the right spot for your specific mission. Remember, hiding in plain sight is always an option!
- Urgent Transmission: I loaded the radio with Ruth's Spotify playlist, but feel free to motivate your team with whatever music moves you.
- Cipher Challenge: I've hidden a few more operational techniques in the cipher. Solve the code and they will be revealed.
Secret Espionage Techniques:
- Code Breaking: Encrypt your meeting invitations; give your guests a hint so they can decode the instructions in time for your mission.
- Dead Drop Hunt: Hide "intelligence" around the venue. Use discussion prompts written on scrawls of paper and hunt for the next dead drop.
- Spy vs Spy: Assign secret roles - who's the double agent? Ask one of your guests to play the role of Major John Andre or Russia's "fourth man."
- Surveillance Photos: Provide a mini-polaroid type camera and see how many photos you and your guests can take without being caught.
- Interrogation: Create an "interrogation chair" and have guests take turns answering a discussion prompt.

πΊοΈ Meeting Location Protocol
Setting up your safe house:
Choose a location that allows for dramatic entrances. Assign each member a code name at the door. Have members exchange "passwords" before entry. Create designated zones: the briefing room (discussion area), the archive (bookshelf/reading nook), and the communications center (refreshments).
Secret Message: Use this link to reveal your mission location. Come alone. Trust no one.
π» Urgent Transmission
Tune in to the espionage frequency:
Set the perfect atmosphere with period-appropriate music. Jazz standards, film noir soundtracks, and Cold War era classics will transport your book club to the golden age of espionage.
